The Track

The Australian thoroughbred racing industry is alive with a cast of amazing characters all year round. There are the jockeys, the trainers, the punters, the vets, the strappers, the bookies, the stewards, the fashionistas, the socialites, the rich, the battlers, the in-betweens, the handicappers, the farriers, the track riders...and of course, not forgetting the horses.

Combined, the excitement of the thoroughbred racing industry provides the perfect backdrop for a 13 part 'docu-reality' show which takes television viewers on the emotional rollercoaster that is racing. We'll take you behind the scenes of racing to experience the joys of winning, the disappointment of defeat and the blood, sweat and tears which goes into making a winner.

The Track is about racing, yes, but it is as much a human interest story. We'll pit State against State, mate against mate. Families, office workers, friends and neighbours will all be invited to enter their syndicate and join us on the most colourful journey of their lives. The series culminates in a grand finale with a winner-takes-all prize. The Track is The Block goes racing.
